The Rev. Dr. Gordon L. Sommers served as Interim Pastor with the expressed mandate of the Eastern District Board to assess the status of the church. A comprehensive Strategic Plan with short- and long-term goals is established, including the short-term goal to call a new part-time pastor whose mandate would be the implementation of some of the programs outlined in the overall Strategic Plan, such as reconstituting the Sunday school and youth programs and increasing membership from its low of 55 communicants.
